We met writer, storyteller, candlemaker Robert Brink at a beautiful little pop-up artisan market called Sourced in Laguna Beach. The space is a very cool converted beach house a block off the Pacific Coast Highway with soaring ceilings and tons of natural light. Robert, with his laid back demeanor and quiet warmth consistent with laguna-beach life, is perfectly at home here, setting up for a weekend of chatting with customers about his line - The Hundredth Acre. The Hundredth Acre creates beautiful, infinitely displayable candles in gorgeous glass vessels and apothecary jars. Each is topped with a round of vintage recycled book page - a nod to Robert's love of writing and literature. But what is immediate, what is all consuming is the fragrance! We particularly love Working in the Garden - an intensely greeeeen play of basil and arugula; Orange Blossom - a heady and totally addictive floral, and our personal favorite - Laguna Beach. Our December subscribers received this beachy blend of jasmine, sea salt and fresh cream in an 8 oz. apothecary glass jar. (MSRP $25.00).
