In Succulent Love - April 2019

I've been thinking a lot about experiential everything. For all of our posting this and liking that, I wonder if deep down, we might just be a little lonely and a little bored. I wonder if that's why there are suddenly tons of experiential things to do out there. Forget the old days when an adult sports league or running group was your only option for post-work recreation, now there's everything from escape rooms, to paint and pinot dates, to macrame classes. I love that! We'll all be renaissance people! So cool!

In the spirit of all things experiential, in April we tried something totally different. Instead of giving you a completely "done" home decor item, we decided to try something new - a DIY kit featuring the work of a couple of different makers.

The April collection introduced you to a fun, funny, super high-energy maker named Jessica Hartmann. She's the creative talent and lady boss behind In Succulent Love. First, a bit of background. The way Jessica tells it, In Succulent Love blossomed by complete accident while she was making succulent pumpkins with her grandmother each autumn. After posting a photo to social media, they immediately generated a buzz, which started her succulent journey. In Succulent Love now ships over 120 different varieties of succulent plants, DIY kits like the one we featured in April, and pre-made arrangements.

Jesicca also teaches DIY classes in San Diego and the surrounding community.
And now she can add published author to her long list of amazing qualities! Her first book, Stylish Succulent Designs & Other Botanical Crafts, filled with 40 different DIY botanical projects, is releasing in October and available for pre-order online now. We loved this project, and based on the feedback that we've received so far, so did you!

Should we have more DIY projects in future boxes? I'm going to sit with my little terrarium and meditate on that. But Jess's book has FORTY projects in it. I'm sure we can woo her back to share another one sometime soon! In the meantime, shop our featured product - the  DIY Meditative Terrarium (retail $21.99) and use code: CAFOUND  for 20% off your first order of any regular priced item at the In Succulent Love website.
