True confession - I'm eating Cake Bams as I write this - yes Cake Bam(s). Plural, I started with Chocolate Chip "Crookie" a seriously yummy lightly salted rice cake iced with dulce sugar cookie yogurt and dotted with chocolate chips. I crushed that one and moved on to Birthday Erry Day a rice cake iced with sweet-but-not-too-sweet strawberry greek yogurt and topped with sprinkles - super cute, totally delish, also gone.
I'm not gluten-free and I have never been a huge rice cake fan. They always reminded me of dieting and were hard to get excited about, amirite? Then the big brands starting spraying them with weird caramel flavoring and "cheese" powder trying to make them more palatable - ew. THEN I met Jenn Stoner, the Rice Cake Reinventor and Founder of Cake Bams. I was skeptical, but she was giving away samples... and I love samples. I tried every flavor Cake Bams she had available, and I was converted. Jenn has cracked the code on how to make rice cakes craveable, and Cake Bams, my friends, are another "Shark Tank" product I wish I'd thought of. They're gluten-free, they're made with ingredients you can pronounce and spell, and they are so good! SO GOOD!
We often wonder about the back story to some of the truly innovative products we feature. Here's Jenn's: After her daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease, Jenn quickly discovered how hard it is to go to toddler birthday parties, where kids have sweets and your little one can’t eat gluten. She got the idea for rice cakes as a platform for flavors traditionally found in cupcakes and cookies; turning them into a lighter, lower calorie, naturally gluten free alternative to traditional snacks. Each and every cake is handcrafted in Cake Bams' Los Angeles kitchen, then immediately packaged for maximum freshness. Cake Bams are the perfect snack to pair with your afternoon coffee (living proof, right here), great for busy moms on the go, and loved by fit fams around the world.
The January California Found collection featured my three favorite Cake Bams: The aforementioned Birthday Erry Day and Chocolate Chip "Crookie" and Salt in the Dark, a vegan option featuring dark chocolate icing and flaked sea salt - oh yeah (retail: $29.95/dozen). You must (MUST) try these, and when you do, use code: CAFOUND for 15% off your Cake Bams purchase AND receive free shipping. How's that for a sweet deal?
